Microstrategy / Business Intelligence Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MicroStrategy/ Business Intelligence engineer and report developer to join our data and analytics team. This role will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimizing business intelligence solutions that empower stakeholders with actionable insights. The ideal candidate has a strong background in MicroStrategy (3-5+ years), a passion for analytics, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and documents based on business requirements.
• Architect scalable MicroStrategy solutions with a focus on performance, usability, and data integrity.
• Translate complex data requirements into efficient and user-friendly analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Optimize data models, cubes, and performance-tuning of reports and dashboards. Maintain documentation for all developed solutions and processes.
• Support ad hoc reporting needs and troubleshooting of MicroStrategy environments. Advocate and enforce best practices in MicroStrategy development and data visualization.

What we're looking for:

• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in MicroStrategy development and architecture.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in related data warehousing/ data engineering.
• Experience in Retail or Wholesale industries would be beneficial.
• Strong understanding of MicroStrategy schema objects, application objects, and project design.
• Proficiency in report and dashboard development, including visualizations and advanced metrics.
• Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses, especially Snowflake, is a plus.
• Familiarity with dbt (Data Build Tool) or other modern data transformation tools is a plus.
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling and SQL.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
